As a hobby I like to play strategy games to keep my mind busy and going. I have always enjoyed strategizing which is why I love Real Estate so much because there are so many strategies. Playing different board games help expand your mind, and also are just fun in general. Here are my top 5 favorite strategy board games
- Settlers of Catan: Cities & Knights – This games is the best strategy game in my opinion. I have been playing this game for 10+ years and it is a great way to strategize and keep your mind busy. You need the original Settler’s of Catan game and the expansion first before you get this one. However, this expansion is a must as it is a lot more complicated and more strategies than the first one :). Players take on the roles of settlers, each attempting to build and develop holdings while trading and acquiring resources. Players gain points as their settlements grow; the first to reach a set number of points wins.
2. Risk – This game is a great strategy game as well. It teaches you how to take risks and is full of chaos. This game will definitely keep you on your toes. Players begin with a set of army figures and place them strategically throughout the map in order to occupy those territories. Players then try to conquer each other’s territories by invading and engaging in battles.
3. Mechs Vs. Minions: LoL Board Game – This is also another great strategy game. If you like League of Legends, this board game is for you. Using programmatic movement from a shared draft, teammates will grow in power as they face off against armies of marauding minions. It is fun because each level you do gets more and more difficult and this game will last you a long time. It is definitely difficult, but I love that about it :).
4. Pandemic – This is a good strategy game and is good for all levels of board game players. This isn’t a super difficult game and what is nice is you can make it more complicated if you want to. We would add more outbreaks to make it more complicated if it is too easy. As skilled members of a disease fighting team, you and the other players work together to keep the world safe from outbreaks and epidemics. The point of the game is to get rid of all the infections while gathering resources of cures.
5. Cashflow – This is a good game and is good for all levels of board game players. This is also not a difficult game and great for everyone to play. Cashflow is great for Real Estate investors. Robert Kiyosaki created this game and is a must have in your collection. Playing Cashflow will train you to become wealthy and will help you broaden your mind with real estate investing. As you play you’ll learn about yourself, your financial style and how it matches up against your opponents. Sharpen your financial literacy and hone the concepts of investing and money making. Are you typically as saver? Try out aggressive investing Are you typically a risk taker? Maybe try steady growth. Great game to have in your collection!
